He's suppose to be our 2nd best player, yet he's out there like a 4th option..it's like he's not in the flow of the game...

I.ve seen lin waive off his pick atleast 4 times since he's been back, so he can PnR with tyson instead..It's like one minute he looks like the regular amare, then he dissappears..

Maybe it's his brothers death, no practice, a long summer of rehabbing, new teammates..Whatever it is, it ain't the Amare we saw last yr.. just when he throws down a vicious dunk, or starts stroking that mid range jumper and you think...OK Amare's back...he then gets his shot blocked, bricks wide open jumpers, and seems disinterested..Plays solid d one minute, then lets his man go for a easy bucket...

I don't want to trade Amare now or next year, I really want him to get a ring here..HE brought NY back before there was ever a Mel, LIN..

And for all you MDA haters..It's great hering Bdiddy, JR smith, Melo, LIN and all these players wanting to play for our Coach and his system (that being one of the reason they sigen here)..I never here players wanting to play for Phil..or raving about the TRIANGLE OFFENSE..

Yea, it has to be something physical. He just doesn't have the same explosiveness, the same edge.

we've seen flashes of explosiveness from amare this season. but lately he looks flat and disconnected. his head must be so ****ed right now. maybe he just needs time to regain form and regain confidence. we're lucky we can win with him lookin like this.

Not saying he is depressed, but you can't really understand how hard his family loss hit him unless you are in his shoes. Sometimes things happen in life that take the passion out of you, even if for a short time. He is still playing and is still contributing. Granted, he doesn't look like Amar'e, but he is still helping us.

Lets give it time. As some point out, Amar'e looked lethargic at the beginning of the season but started getting his legs back until his family loss. A combination of those two could be hurting him now.

Give it time. I'd be happy to have Amar'e fully back later in the season, maybe close to the playoffs. Of course it helps if we keep winning.

Lets trade him.....Right, I mean thats what we talk about next?

Trade him to Orlando? So he can be back home, closer to his pain?

With SVG ranting and raving?

I think Thats why Dwight wants out!

Dwight can't fit on the rides at Universal, so he wants out.

Amare is trying to be "team" oriented?

We won right? Or did we not win enough?

Stat went from being at the top of the food chain to the third option behind Lin and Melo. Lin is getting more touches. Its a condensed season. Its harder for him to recover from games. He's getting older. There are more weapons on offense now. He can't get into a rhythm. He's had a bad year on a personal level.

Stat still has some big games left in him, just not sure how many.

When it is time Amare will carry this team on his shoulders. What Amare is doing right now is allowing his teammates to develop confidence which is always good. The passing of family member takes a lot of time to get use to. Give him some time.

I don't know if Amare will need to carry the team. He's an extremely skilled (and highly paid) role player in the D'Antoni system. If there's a matchup to be exploited, then he'll be the one who gets the ball a lot.

I wrote this elsewhere, but if the team has the choice between the 70%fg PNR partner vs the 45%fg PNR partner, shouldn't he be going to the 70% guy?

Teams have taken away the Tyson PnR. Like him or not, STAT can hit a jumper and he still has the ability to create a shot for himself as he did against Dirk on that shot they took away from him. He's still a highly skilled big and when he's locked in on his jumper guys can't stop him. Who knows if he's got some physical issues or not.
How can you really know, Dude had only 10 shots!!! That's not really close to what you used to get from him. The ball was spread around as it should be. No need to force feed STAT as opposed to everyone getting involved.

he hasn't been hitting that jumper that he was last year. That concerns me. also he is not getting any lift and is getting blocked by guards. hopefully he shakes this off soon because if amare plays like amare we are dangerous

He moves as if he has stiffness in his back. When Melo returns, they should shut down Amare for a spell. He needs to loosen up and get his lower back right again.

He honestly shouldn't be starting at this point. He's been a liability on both sides of the court. I agree, shut him down. Maybe let his back heal a while and get his jumper back and then he could be a real asset again.

We have no idea if is back is even an issue. He has not shown any pain or discomfort. Maybe he is just losing a step. The team hasn't said he's been playing injured or given any indication that he is not 100 percent... but of course every one is going to say it's his back..
