He doesn't have the explosiveness. He looks a step slower. Like your favorite running back that turned 30, Just doesn't hit the hole like he did before. Now he just getting rejected. Can't drive by his man. Just hits the ball off his foot or gets rejected at the rim.

Maybe a combination of both. His lack of super star play is one of the main reason's we are playing so bad. He can't hit his jumpers. I think I saw a stat that said this year he is only hitting 28 percent from 15 feet out compared to last year where he shot 41%. He lost the touch, explosiveness and did not deliver with his defense approach. His shot blocking went down.

I think he will regain some of that explosiveness he spent the entire offseason rehabbing and strengthening his back. That and a PG setting him up as he attacks the basket will make him resemble his old self. Now if even with a new PG he looks like crap than its because his role has change to attempt to suit playing next to Melo. Then a trade will be needed

I worried about this last year but Stat is really starting to look like he is on the decline. His piss poor defense is even more alarming. I thought he would improve on the defensive end but he looks worst.

I can't believe a 29yr old is on the decline. It's not like LJ who had chronic back problems or Mcdyess with multiple knee injuries. If he has to change his game then he will. All the great ones have. Ex Karl Malone wasn't the same player at 29 as he was at 36.

Amare has had multiple knee injuries like Mcdyess. He needs to develop a killer post game. If he could develop a post moves he could be the most dominate pf in the game. It would actually help him finish around the rim too. But he thinks he is a SF.

It's the extra weight for sure - -said he gained 20 lbs of muscle.

He should have probably maintained or even lost -- of course maybe he thought he'd still be playing center alot!

I don't thin it's his knees, he just doesn;t look as quick.

Check the first vid. He had a team around him that were very capable passers. From Felton to Gallo to The Mayor to Fields. They all looked to set him up and play off him. That's what happened.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Its the minutes - he came in from HS, like KG.
