I think they'll win 35 games rouhly. Eh make it 34.

[Edited by - Slimpack on 10-09-2008 9:37 PM]

Excuse me pls, but this is clearly a sissy prediction and it does not belong in this thead, pls include more victories, fistfight between N8 and Zbo or a blockbuster trade to be on par with this thread

Thank You Ramtour. I now appoint you lead deputy of Hang-Your-Ass-Ville! This is a big responsibility, guard it with your life.

Thank you for the honor oohah. I will carry out my duties with fairness and dedication

After reading the whole thread, i found out that 3 of my predictions were just repeats of what others have said, so i'd like to present 3 more bold ones:

1- Both Curry and Crawford will be traded in 2009

2- Papabear will come back to us.

3- This is the biggest ass-hanging prediction i've made so far- Marbs will win the 6th man of the year award. Please keep in mind that its only given to non-starters, thats its given to ppl that are true team players, that it would in all likelyhood require him to not be traded the whole season, and that I am taking about Starbury here !!!!!!
Everything you have ever wanted is on the other side of fear- George Adair

On the one hand it would be the nail in the coffin for Marbury's rep if he's not in contention for that award. Having said that, that award typically goes to guys who really understand their role. As a scoring/combo PG Marbury has never really been comfortable in anything but a leading role. It would benefit his career at this point if he could embrace and conform to a supportive role, whatever role that may be. IOW, Marbury's got to save his schizophrenic persona for interviews and pretend to be comfortable in his skin on the court.

The other thing working against him is that the award typically goes to competitive teams. It's not enough to come in and make oneself look good, their contributions have to make the team look good.

37 wins

Nate starts at PG for the 2nd half of the year
Duhon is a bust
ZBo makes the all-star team
Craw is traded
Marbs is good for 15 games and then he and Rose get in a knock down drag out fight that causes the Knicks to waive them both
DNichols makes a return to the team and averages double digit points in the 2nd half of the season
The Rooster plays slightly more than Big Snacks has
Mardy becomes the Knicks version of DJ Strawberry
The Mayor becomes the Knicks version of Q Rich
QRich becomes and older, useless version of Q Rich
Houston realizes that he's an older, more useless version of Allan Houston
Mike D'Antoni breaks down into tears at one or more press conferences and starts muttering things in Italian
Isiah is spotted in a trench coat and a fake mustache watching one or more games from his old post next to the stands
Eddy Curry quits the NBA when he doesn't play for the entire year.
Big Snacks retires for medical reasons after an accident where he mistakes a roll of trainer's wrap for a hot-dog
Jeffries finishes the season as the 6th man, playing mostly at center

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

19 pts, 5 assists... shot very well from beyond the arc... the guy can play.

It comes out in the NY Post's Page Six that the Thomas/Marbury feud started because of a love-affair gone awry. Berman reads this, breaks down, and jumps from his office window. Reporters call Marbury for a comment, but they can't make out what's said because he's crying like he did during the Hurricane Katrina press conference. Reporters misinterpret and speculate he is as high as a kite, then gets a pain killer sponsorship. Marbury gets lauded for being such a humanitarian and a philanthropist for selling prescription grade pain killers at affordable prices to inner city youth. Dolan then reassigns Walsh below Isiah Thomas because the team gets on the back page of every major city's papers and the talk of the sports world.

Yes he can. And making more three point shots as a team is what did it this time. The turnovers are still bad, but maybe that will have to be an equation into the new offense style?
I'll never trust this' team again.

The Knicks win 38 games but again fail to make the playoffs.
The Knicks sign David Lee to a five year contract and he averages 16 and 10.
Marbury has a good season and gets traded to a contender before the deadline.
Gallo starts slow but his minutes gradually grow after Jan 1. Towards the end of the season, he's playing significant minutes and scoring well.
Wilson Chandler becomes the starting 3 and becomes a good, but not a great player.
Zach gets the system and does his 20-10 thing while playing more of a team game.
Curry isn't in the rotation by Jan 1. He asks to be traded.
Nate and Craw do well, but get traded for a bigger and better two.
After Nate is traded, Mardy joins the rotation and plays well off the bench.
