Why do you think the Hawks haven't announced a coach yet? They are waiting to offer the job to Eddie Jordan. Be patient...

Tell me, do you know how to read or do you just pontificate?

no 100 pct of the coaches should be qualified and rewarded due to some recent success or good work they performed, Black or white. And Black Coaches should be hire cause they are the most qualifed for the job, when they get passed on for a coaches son or some college coach with one good season it sends a message especially when all the players in the legue are black.
enjoy your supper.

Now I'm listening to the FAN yesterday, and Mike Francesa made one of the most inane points I've ever heard about the Floyd hiring. He said that the problem is that college coaches never get good NBA teams, so they get blasted as being bad coaches which, he states, is the case with Floyd. He asked for ONE college coach who'd come into the league and been handed a good team. Off the top of my head I thought: Tarkanian

I think it simply boils down to either you're a good coach or you're not, regardless of color. To me, Don Chaney should never sit in the big chair again. Neither should Butch Beard, Quinn Buckner, John Calipari, Tim Floyd and I'm borderline on Pitino. Simply because of his Knicks run. If I base it solely on his performance in Boston, he can join that group.

Yet I understand that for every one of those, there is an Eddie Jordan or Michael Cooper who should get a shot. Maybe even a Thibedoeau (sp?). But, IMHO, they should get a shot simply because they are QUALIFIED.

S**t on myself... you can do better than that.

I think I'll quit while I'm ahead... there has got to be more to life than discussing Tim Floyd and the Big 12.

it feels good to pump yourself up. you good at doing that, but quit cause you got your azz handed to you once again. don't worry your boy floyd will be joining you along with the strong never winning big 12.

A quitter never wins and a winner never quits.

chew on that, chump

... I told you, I'm full... but, if you want to whine and complain... look at MLB... talk about retreads... Mckeon is a step away from the grave and got another shot. On a relative basis... the NBA is head and shoulders above baseball and football. As of now, a qualified black coach has a great chance of being treated fairly and landing a job in the NBA... chew on that.

yeah masser we got us a good plantation here boss

how you like that pike

what we have is a culture problem, basketball is yet a micro part of the problem. things are getting better and yet we still have a long way to go.

nba is better no doubt in that regards, considering 90 pct of the players and MVP's are black men, i guee the nba should give inteligent Qualifed guys a shot, even if they are black even if it's only 6 or eight guys.

Whatever the case retreads like floyd are bad for basketball period.

The fact that there are only six now is a product of the past. My point is, from here on going forward... it's as equal as it has ever been and the closest we've come to true equality.

You better get going, it's "quitting" time.

ARES you need to squash that , i'm all for minority getting gigs to prove the can handle pressure situations and run the show. I am not a tim floyd fan but going to the bulls after the jordan era is a crazy job anyway you put it. Now going to the Hornets after Silas bad fortunes(players injuries) is a better situation for anyone. The players are there, now if they can stay healthy and jell as a unit ansd listen to what he has to say then it's a moot point.

listen uncle tom it's not about proving they can handle pressure situations , of course they can!! the league is 90 pct black o they played and handle critical situatuions...they can play in the league. It's about giving the job to qualified elgible receipients people who DESERVE IT! and when Black guys keep getting passed over for RETREADS it sends a bad message.

Forget about the past and forget about Tim Floyd for just a moment... ask yourself where the retreads are... Del Harris, Brian Hill, Mike Dunleavy, PJ Carlisimo and others... they're either unemployed or assistant coaches. Eddie Jordan will get either the Hawks or possbly Wizards job. At this point in time, a qualified black coach will have as much of a chance as a qualified white coach... Heck, the NBA has been chasing Tubby Smith for years... other qualified black coaches will get offers.

We're as close to equal footing as we've ever been. We got a ways to go but, we're almost there in the NBA... as I mentioned yesterday, the situation in MLB and the NFL has a lot to be desired and should be the focus of your discontent, as far as I'm concerned.
