Hopefully sooner rather than later so we can get him back for the playoffs. He was never a good shooter to begin with but this is ridiculous he’s 50% on free throws.

He had it over the summer. It takes time to regain the sensation. I guess PHilC has his medical records or in in converstaion with Josh but from what is said Hart thinks its going to take time. If redoing the procedure it will no doubt be a big setback.
Medicine is not a defined process and why its called "practicing medicine". sometimes things work, sometimes they don't.
No guarantee another surgery yields a better result and there could be a chance it worsens?

NBA players will tell us what we want to hear but we just never know how, when or if nerve ending regain its full capacity.
What is the right thing for him to do? Maybe nobody knows and its prudent to wait? There are long term ramifications to his career that we are not considering. Fans want to win now!

I am sure he is taking neuroleptics to speed up nerve growth/recovery. He has to, given how he is a millionaire and has access to the best medical treatment money can buy. Btw, Lions Mane mushrooms are pretty amazing for this purpose

Do I need medical records to check on Josh Hart shooting 20%? Elf laughs at that

He is dragging this out and will end up getting surgery in January. Just in time for him to miss rest of the season including playoffs. Alec Burks please.

he has taken all of 19 shots in 89 minutes. Nobody says he is not huring. He admits it. But who thinks to offer advice with assumptive ignorince? Elf laughs at you, not with you.

He is passing on surgery and focusing on new treatments involving lots of breast milk.

You don't need his medical records. You need to think.
BTW, nothing wrong with sticking your neck out but if you wrong be a man about it.
Nobody expected him to be a good shooter as he has not his career, but he trending better.

Crazy how much he turned it around and how quickly. I was worried he had the yips. He actually doesn't even seem 100 pct yet, bc he is still not his best in transition and finishing (where he ranks among the best in the game IMO). The shot coming around has been awesome. That is probably more about his back then his hand He has been streaky since he has been here, but the confidence to take the is the biggest thing.

Josh Hart talked with @IanBegley why he did not elect to have surgery on his hand

Ian gives his takeaways from that conversation:

"If you go in and you have that surgery, yes, the timetable is reportedly three months - but you're talking about your shooting hand, nerves in your hand - it's a big risk, big rehab in season.

I understood why he is not thinking about surgery because you open it up, who knows what happens.

It's also his shooting hand, and there's too much on the line in terms of what could go wrong.

I was one of the people who thought, 'why not just get under the knife, get it over with, and come back?' But after asking him about it, the things he was saying made a lot of sense to me."

Just Dr. Philc.
Josh's career as a hand model might be over.

To be fair, Philc wanted to get out infront and impress us with with a keen insight that someone struggling will need a fix than the boring non funny reality that more often than not a clear medical consult was done and it was decided it best to give it some time, play thru it, and then see what happens.

There is always the possiblity that he does reinjure the finger and that could escalate to surgery. Does that make PHilC correct? NO, becuae Josh in two games demonstrated he can play with the finger as it is and contribute to winning. He is functioning without surgery. Is it sustainable? Never can tell.

Josh is at the moment correct in not getting surgery. Spoke to a knick fan hand surgeon buddy last night at a dinner who was quick to say that anyting on a shooting hand given the sport could take a year or so for full nerve regeneration. A baseball pitcher, football quarterback, and basketball player with a procedure on a dominant hand is in his opinion a proceedure should always be a last resort. If the player cannot function thats a different story. Josh is functioning in his role.

Probably should be transparent and offer the name of the M.D. who said it was ok to reference to do so: Dr. Elfrado Paytonstein (1).

So when is Hart getting surgery?
